To be great at something, life balance doesn’t exist and sacrifices must be made, but rotating your priorities keeps everything on track, says Ben Pakulski
Ben Pakulski is a IFBB Pro bodybuilder and creator of the new Mi40 Xtreme training system and the Mi40 Nation website. He is based in Tampa, Florida.
Balance doesn’t exist
I have never met someone who is exceptional at something who has a balanced life. They have lazer-focus on their top priorities, which is what made them great. If you want to be the best at anything it requires so much work there’s not much room for anything else.
Rotate your priorities
My family always comes first, then bodybuilding during content season. Everything else takes a back seat. After show season my priorities shift and I focus more on my business. I still train, but I
need to make money to support my family.
You can’t do it all
I learnt the hard way that if you try to do everything, then you suck at everything. I had to learn to change my priorities because I wanted to do it all. But that comes at a cost and I didn’t sleep. That impacts everything, from work to training to recovery.
