To maximize muscle mass you need to prioritise exercise execution to fatigue different parts of the muscle over simply completing reps. Top IFBB bodybuilder Ben Pakulski reveals how he structures workouts to make his muscles grow

Execute each rep
So many people only think about completing the movement of each rep, rather than focusing on contracting the muscle. Doing so means that you are not hitting the target muscle effectively, if at all. Executing the muscle contraction is so important.
Short range movements
It’s also crucial to hit every part of the muscle you’re working through its full range of motion, but you don’t have to achieve this with a single move. I use a lot of short-range exercises to fatigue a portion of the muscle, then do another move to hit another part.
Fully fatigue a muscle
This is not necessary an approach for the average person, but if you are serious about maximizing muscle mass growth then you need to consider a more advanced strategy that will fully fatigue every part of the muscle or muscles you are training.
