Work out harder and for longer by using beta-alanine before your session, says David Sandler

You can only lift for as long as your muscles allow. Intense training causes the build-up of waste products in your muscle tissues including lactic acid, which is responsible for that feeling of muscle ‘burn’ that often precedes the end of your set. But taking beta-alanine, a naturally occurring amino acid, can limit the accumulation of lactic acid so you can push your muscles through the pain barrier to get better results faster.
